# Product page

**Published:** 2026-09-12 · **Last reviewed:** 2026-09-12 · **Reading edit:** 2026-09-12

A visitor reads your product page and understands that it is powerful, flexible, and easy to use—but still cannot picture how it works. A useful page shows the task, the mechanism, and the requirements clearly enough for the reader to judge whether it fits.

## Choose the page's level

A platform overview and an individual feature page have different scope. Decide which question this page owns, then link to deeper material instead of stuffing every technical detail into one long sales narrative.

## Build the explanation

1. **Name the user and problem.** Use the reader's task, not only an internal product category. Make the opening specific enough that an unsuitable visitor can recognize the mismatch.
2. **Show the mechanism.** Explain how the product changes the workflow. Use a current screenshot, demonstration, or concrete sequence rather than relying only on outcome adjectives.
3. **Connect capabilities to consequences.** For each important capability, state what it enables and what the user must supply. Do not turn a plausible benefit into a guaranteed result.
4. **Provide scoped proof.** Include a supported claim, customer evidence with permission, or a reproducible example. Keep dates, sample limits, and relevant conditions close to the claim.
5. **Expose buying constraints.** Link to integrations, security information, implementation requirements, pricing, and support where relevant. Be explicit about features that require a particular plan or setup.
6. **Offer the appropriate next step.** A buyer may need a trial, documentation, a compatibility answer, or a consultation. Explain what each action provides and test it end to end.

## Worked example

A fictional invoice product replaces “automate your finance team” with a demonstration of an exception queue. The page explains how unmatched invoices reach an owner, shows the audit record, and states which accounting systems are supported.

A customer quote about easier review is presented as that customer's experience, not a universal time-saving promise. Buyers with unsupported systems can discover the limitation before investing in a meeting.

## Page outline

| Section | Reader question |
| ----------------------------- | ---------------------------------- |
| Opening | Is this relevant to my task? |
| Workflow | How does it actually work? |
| Capabilities and requirements | What can I do, and what is needed? |
| Evidence | Why should I believe the claim? |
| Constraints and deeper links | Where might it not fit? |
| Next action | How can I evaluate further? |

## Review before release

Check every screenshot against the current product and every claim against its evidence. Ask an unfamiliar reader to describe the workflow after viewing the page. If they can repeat the slogan but cannot explain the mechanism, revise the explanation before buying traffic.

## Try it with your own work

Choose one capability on the page. Add a concrete explanation of what the user does, what the product does next, and what they get at the end.
